What a great afternoon we had on the 8th April, New Forest members joined S.A.M (local branch of I.A.M) for their slow ride course. The weather was perfect, all the instructors were really helpful and very encouraging, very patient. I needed to do the part one again as my riding season was very short last year and confidence knocked but after the afternoon I went home buzzing and went out the next day feeling a lot better and trying to put in practice what I had been told. I especially enjoyed being able to do a U turn and help with the cornering. I would recommend it to all riders to do.
A few comments from the other ladies who took part.
Trudy young on her Sportster
“It was a great afternoon ! Learnt a lot, and there’s still a few things I would like to brush up on again!. Instructors were very helpful and constructive. Was a great way to meet other members also. I’m doing part 2 on Saturday 13 May to learn some more!”
Helen Watt on her Road king Classic,
“A friendly approach by the instructors gave confidence which lead to a positive course and a highly enjoyable experience that had made me want to take on the next level”
Rianne Long-Van Vugt on her Dyna Superglide
“slow ride course made it all the better because the sun was out big time!!. The atmosphere was relaxed and in a lovely way really grown up with a lot of laughter and encouragement, even if you cocked it up… There are so many bad habits creeping in over the years and it was good to go back to basics and more !! I feel I have much better control stopping the bike not only because I forgot to put one foot( heel first)on the floor instead of 2, must I have looked a plonker… but also because I was reminded to use target vision, I think that is what they called it. My cornering is much better because you are going where you are looking. The instructors were very good in constructive criticism, they must have had a course in patience as well, lol :)) I’m gutted I can’t be there for level 2 but hopefully will make the one later in the year”
